Driven to Transform the Transportation Industry

EcoWest intends to play its part in reducing the world’s reliance on fossil fuels by encouraging the transportation industry to convert to semi-trucks powered by electricity. Our intention is to start right here at home on Vancouver Island.

British Columbia generates most of its electricity by way of hydroelectric dams which makes it uniquely placed to provide clean electricity for electric vehicles (EV’s). By converting diesel-powered trucks to electric-powered trucks, we can make a real difference in reducing Co2 emissions.

Our first charging hub will be in Parksville where we will be working with several of our customers to trial electric-

powered semis in different applications such as grocery delivery, material hauling, and forestry.

Once the trucks are proven capable, we will begin expanding across the Island, and beyond.

We can’t do this on our own. Our intention is to partner with like-minded people and companies to create a safe, efficient, network of charging hubs and a fleet of electric semis that can supply the products we all depend upon for our livelihoods, comfort, and health. In so doing we can take a bit of a load off mother nature and continue to drive the economy in an eco-friendlier way.

It’s only one small piece of the puzzle but it will have an impact

How EcoWest
came to be?

I was driving my kids home from school a couple of summers ago. BC was covered in smoke because of forest fires. My daughter looking out the window at the haze and remarked, “I guess it will be like this all the time when I grow up”. That moment was a motivator for me to reconsider what I was doing. My partner Timber and I began to think about a different future.

Meet the Team

Jarvis (Founder & Director)

I was driving my kids home from school a couple of summers ago. BC was covered in smoke because of forest fires. My daughter looking out the window at the haze and remarked, “I guess it will be like this all the time when I grow up”. That moment was a motivator for me to reconsider what I was doing. My partner Timber and I began to think about a different future.

Timber (Founder & Director)

As a long-time business owner in logging and more recently in the transportation industry I have an obligation to be looking ahead. Jarvis and I talked a lot about the future of transportation and came to the conclusion that electric commercial vehicles would play a significant role in the future because they will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve the safety and reliability of semi-trucks, and help clean up the air we breathe.

Mark (Director)

Our kids will soon inherit a world my generation had a big hand in creating. EcoWest Driven aims to do its part to give our children and their children the opportunity to live a healthy life, make a decent living and enjoy the wonders our planet has to offer.
